FRINGE REVIEW: Where Have All The Lightning Bugs Gone?

Sweet, endearing and peppered with bits of gentle comedy, Louis E. Carton's 1968 play Where Have All The Lightning Bugs Gone? is a touching story that all ages can enjoy.  In the play a boy and a girl exchange flirtatious passes through a series of imaginative games which leave the audience wondering what is true and what is imagination.  A clear chemistry emerges as Edmonton locals Erika Moore and Luc Tellier inject a tender, youthful innocence into a play spiced with western shootouts,  WWII fight scenes and Shakespearean soliloquies.  This romantic comedy, spiced with a bit of action, has something for all ages to enjoy.

Four out of five stars.
